Hey, Rafe here. I just started this part of the page since I am helping to run it. I thought I should tell you what I think about what happened, too. Anyway, it is going to be August 3rd in five minutes...wait....er...make that four now, so I'll tell you what happened today during filming from my point of veiw.
It was scorching hot out today so we went inside and did most the scenes. When the scene where the character "Black" was to come in the movie Ashley really wanted to be her. I made up the stunt where the character Black stands on the top of the stairs in a weird, leaned down position and jumps from the top. I showed Ashley many times but she didn't want to jump from the top step and wasn't doing it right. I wasn't mad or anything, I just thought I could dress up in the costume for that quick stunt and do right. But Ashley insisted that she do it. Me and Catrina had to bug the heck out of her to make her hand over the costume. I think she was mad, but I did the small scene and then she was ok again.
I knew casting Chelsea as Makara wouldn't work at all. She has only been avalible two days out of every time we've filmed. She doesn't know, but she is not in the film anymore unless she can be availibe soon. Every scene she is in we always have to find people to be her "messengers" or have another character say the lines and alter it a bit.
Well, personaly, I find filming a lot of fun. I got tired today, but I managed to do it. I love acting so much but I don't put enough effort into this film because a lot of it is to have fun. Someday when we get older we are going to film it again, exept with at least a small buget.
Catrina got mad at Ashley because things keep popping up. Like she always goes to this camp this right on our most-avalible weeks. And tommarow she has to go to a baby shower...all day long.
We had to stop filming really early today because she had to go shopping for a baby shower gift.
I wrote the contract for our new production company. I added Catrina's ideas with mine and fixed it all up. I hope she likes it even though it is kind of long. After this (if Catrina doesn't move) we'll probably start on this fantasy-elf type movie Leyra has written the script for. Then I'll write a script for a movie and we'll do mine.
Well, I'm going to try and get some sleep before 1:00 AM since that is just 45 minutes away and I drank this new energy drink called "Vamp". It said that they put as much caffine in it as the law will allow. I'm wide awake and I'm usually tired at about 10:30 PM or 11:00 PM. And I drank it about 9:45 PM. Well, for tonight...or this morning, I guess, goodbye.
August 7th, 2002
Finally we filmed today and it is going to be yet another three days until we can because Ashley has to go to that camp thing and then babysit for two days in a row.
But I had fun. I think Charlie did a really good job as the secretary and the gaurd.
We had a lot of bloopers and that always makes it fun. And Jordain Skarpol, our new Ronaro, did an exelent job. She was serious about it yet made it so funny in a good way. And the best part was she could remember her parts after rehersing only once or twice.
I think we got about three or four scenes done today. I thought the funniest blooper was when Ashley (Leyra) had to be the cameraman during the scene when Catrina and I had to walk around while talking. Ashley had to walk backwards and I was trying to trip her so she waved her hand to stop and the camera saw it. Also when Catrina forgot this really long line so she replaced it with "why! how!?" and we all started laughing.
Well, enough about that. I'm officially the director now. It is funny because every movie I'm in, the director always turns his/her job over to me! I think it is because I have good ideas about how the camera should be and how the scene should go.
Why am I going on about that now? I'm suppose to be talking about filming!
ANYWAY...We filmed in the woods today. I got a bug in my eye and I can't stand it when that happenes. But I know the woods made the movie look really cool. I can't wait to film again.
August 12th, 2002
Today we got about three or four pages in the script done. We did a really funny scene where I just go up to Cat and Leyra and say, "Hello. Makara is dead. Anyway..."
We had to say she was dead because Chelsea Wilkes can never make it when we are filming. So we got someone named Cody to play Makara's brother, Makel, to fill in for Makara's parts.
He wore a black cape and black clothes with a Turkish hat and Marti Gras beads. He looked really funny. But he kept messing around and was trying to make us laugh but he was just making Catrina mad and when Catrina gets mad, Leyra gets mad.
Well one time he saw these two people going on a walk so he went chasing after them with Cat's sword. Can't you imagian someone with a cape and a Turkish hat with Marti Gras beads running down the sidewalk with a plastic sword? I thought it was funny but of course they got all mad because they thought it wasn't funny.
We did this really weird scene that doesn't even fit into the movie where we're all dancing. I mean, that was OK, but then Catrina insisted that she talk into the camera saying, "thanks for filming that Rafe," when I was dancing with them! It makes NO sense and plus, Jordian Skarpol who plays Runaro (or however you spell it) was in it dancing too. But Cat said no one will reconise her because her hair was back in the other scenes.
I can't even call this a movie anymore! But I'm not mad so don't get the impression I am.
Well, I hope when Cat is looking it over she can see that it looks really weird. Well, I'm done for today.
August 14th, 2002
Today was "ruined" by me, Cat said. She said I was acting like a four year old when she was the one who said "I'm going home!" and went walking off almost crying because she got water on her. I'm not trying to be mean but I'm being honest.
During one scene I came walking in and I was doing this weird thing with my hands which the camera didn't see and Cat thought and insisted that it did...so we had to re-do it. And Jordain (Runaro) even said the camera didn't since she was the cameraman for that scene. But of course Cat still insisted that it saw it.
I don't want to even talk about today because it was so horrible.
Cat got mad because Cody and I where hyper, Cody got mad at Cat because he can't be on the cover of the movie, and Cody got mad at Ashley because she hit him in the nose, and Cat blamed everything on ME. Then Cody was yelling that these little kids who wanted to be in the movie who had been screaming in the background.
August 20th, 2002
Today was our last day of filming and I think it was the best day of filming we've ever had. We finished the last scenes which went pretty quick. I'd have to say my favorite one would be the last scene of Lerites where Cat and Leyra are talking and I spray them with a hose. I got them drenched. But then Ashley (Leyra) got the hose from me and got me back.
Then after that we had all too much fun making these two music videos in Ashley's back yard. It's funny on the second one because in the background Cody (Makel) is dancing and has a heart attack while Gabi, Ashley, and I are doing our little thingy. The third music video which was done on Cody's trampoline was cut out because Cody kept putting his face up in the camera. Also, it looked dumb anyway because all we where pretty much doing was jumping and mouthing the words. But we all had fun and that's what mattered. After that we did some behind the scenes and we all talked about Lerites and the character we played.
Then we watched everything. I wasn't expecting it to turn out like that. I think we had too much fun.
After that we had Koolaid and popcorn and listened to Def Lepord and other rock music. It's kind of sad when it's all over. Well, almost all over anyway. We still have to do the photo shoot for the cover. And I must say, making Lerites has been a blast.
